Show me what I carry unnecessarily: my need for control, my demand for certainty, my attachment to comfort, and the distractions I use to avoid listening. Teach me to travel more lightly. As I walk, slow the pace of my heart. Free me from the urge to hurry toward a destination or turn the journey into another accomplishment. Help me attend to the ground beneath my feet, the landscape around me, the people beside me, and the quiet movements within me. When the road is beautiful, awaken gratitude. When it is difficult, deepen perseverance. When I become tired, teach me dependence. When the way is unclear, give me enough light for the next faithful step. When plans are interrupted, make me receptive to the grace that may arrive through what I did not expect. Meet me through silence and conversation, solitude and hospitality, beauty and discomfort. Let each encounter become an invitation to listen more deeply. Keep me attentive to the stranger, the overlooked place, and the ordinary kindness through which your presence may quietly become known. Guard me from believing that spiritual transformation must be sudden or dramatic. Remind me that you often work gradually—loosening one attachment, revealing one truth, healing one wound, and teaching one act of trust at a time. Give me patience with the distance still before me and gratitude for the ground already traveled. When I feel far from home, remind me that my deepest security is not found in familiar surroundings but in your faithful presence. You are with me where I begin, where I wander, where I rest, and wherever the road may lead. May this pilgrimage reshape more than the hours I spend walking. Teach me to carry its attentiveness into the ordinary rhythms to which I return. Make my whole life a journey of following Christ—with open hands, a listening heart, and a willingness to be changed along the way. Today, direct my steps. Reveal what I need to release, what I am being invited to receive, and how I may walk more faithfully with you. In the name of Jesus, who meets us on the road and calls us to follow. Amen.
