# Grace at Home — Following Jesus with the People Who See Your Flaws

Discipleship at work is challenging.

Discipleship at church can be beautiful.

But discipleship at home?

That’s the Olympics.

Why?

Because home is where:

- your patience is tested
- your habits are visible
- your flaws aren’t hidden
- your family knows when you’re tired or overwhelmed
- your “church self” and “real self” collide

And yet — **home is the first and primary place Jesus forms us.**

**Grace Begins Closest to Us**

We often think:

“I’ll be patient and kind out in the world… but not right now at home because I’m exhausted.”

But grace is meant to start with:

- spouses
- kids
- aging parents
- roommates
- siblings
- the people we love (and sometimes irritate us the most)

Jesus’ command was simple:

**“Love one another… as I have loved you.”**

Not “love strangers more than your own household.”

**What Grace Looks Like at Home**

Grace at home doesn’t look super-spiritual.

It’s small, practical, ordinary:

- Apologizing quickly
- Assuming the best
- Offering help before being asked
- Listening without multitasking
- Giving space when someone is stressed
- Not keeping score
- Being interruptible

These are small acts of discipleship that create an atmosphere of Christ’s love.

**The Family Is a Training Ground, Not a Stage**

Your family does not need your perfection.

They need your humility.

Every moment of tension, frustration, or miscommunication becomes an opportunity to say:

“Jesus, help me respond in love.”

Grace at home isn’t glamorous.

But it might be the most authentic discipleship you ever practice.
